Items are releasable by appointment only. When coming to claim your property you must show a picture ID or other appropriate paperwork. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 8am-3pm.

If you are attempting to pick up property on someone else’s behalf that is incarcerated, please fill out the Incarcerated Person Property Release Form. You will need to contact the Property Unit to schedule an appointment.
If one of the property items available for release to you is a firearm, please note any person who claims title to a firearm that is in the custody or control of a court or law enforcement agency and who wishes to have the firearm returned, shall make application for a determination by the Department of Justice (DOJ) as to whether he or she is eligible to possess a firearm (PC 12021.3). As such, prior to the release of your firearm, you must submit a Law Enforcement Gun Release Application (LEGRA) to the Department of Justice. Additionally, the firearm must be registered in your name. To begin the firearm release process, you will need to contact the property unit and fill out a LEGRA and an Ownership Report if required.
