Pill Take Back Program

The City of Grass Valley participates in a National Pill Take Back Program. We have two bin locations in the city limits. The Grass Valley Police Department lobby has two bins that are available to the public for drop offs Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Nevada County Behavioral Health has a bin located in their lobby at 500 Crown Point Cir. and can be contacted at (530) 265-1437. 

The items that are accepted for disposal in the listed bins are expired or unused prescription and over the counter medications. All information is 100% confidential and labels on pill bottles do not need to be removed. Any liquid medications must have original seals or placed into a plastic bag prior to disposal.

We DO NOT accept any needles, sharps, EPI pens or lancets. You can dispose of these items at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station and Recycling Center or the Kmart Pharmacy. Please do not dispose of vitamins or any non harmful supplements into the bins.
